TESTIMONIALS

Hello Sister Kelly,

I just wanted to drop you a note on what an amazing job the teachers are doing with Asher.  He drew the world map this morning from memory, without using any references.

Thank you. Thank you from the deepest of our hearts, to you and all the teachers, for making OLG the special place that it is.

Sincerely,
Aerin

Dear Sister Kelly,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to you because I attended Our Lady of Grace many, many years ago. I cannot recall the exact years that I was there, but most likely between 1992-1995. My maiden name is Verlander. My brother, Naresh Verlander, attended Our Lady of Grace before me as well. My mother, Marian Verlander, is still in New York but I have ended up settling with my husband in London, UK.

I am writing to not only inform you of this and say hello, but I also wanted to reach out as I have just started training for the 3-6 AMI Diploma Course at the Maria Montessori Institute in London. So many wonderful memories of my time at Our Lady of Grace continue to come back to me now (even over 25 years later!) and even specific memories of working with particular materials! It is incredible to be able to learn and understand Montessori's philosophy and theory which benefited me so much.

For many years I studied Psychology and even did my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in the hope to help others and do good in the world by working in Mental Health. Recently, I decided to change direction and concentrate my knowledge towards education, and more specifically, Montessori. My love of learning clearly has not ceased.

This email was to let you know how a prior pupil of Our Lady of Grace is so very grateful for the Montessori education that was provided for me, and the impact it made on my life.

I hope to hear from you, but if not, I hope you accept my token of appreciation.

Best wishes,

To this day, Our Lady of Grace instills in me a sense of home, peace, and belonging. I owe so much to my teachers, mentors, and peers, for I truly believe they helped mold me and change me for the better."

From music lessons with Miss Mary, to French lessons with Mrs. Farrell (Parlez-vous Francais?), gardening with Miss Cecilia and going to Sister Kelly's 'castle' on special occasions, my memories of OLG are fond ones. The hands-on experiences such as culture days to enhance our learning and book projects to show off our creativity stick out in my mind. There is not a single person at that school who does not want to be there. It is truly like a second family. It has been 9 years since I left the school, and I still love going back every chance I get."

I attended Our Lady of Grace for six years.  Our Lady of Grace prepared me extremely well for when I graduated and went on to my future schools.  Sister Kelly and the wonderful teachers created a perfect learning environment.  It's funny, but I used to get upset when we had snow days, because I enjoyed going to school and seeing my teachers so much.  I learned above and beyond what I would have learned at any other school.  What I was taught at Our Lady of Grace has put me ahead of my peers and has given me an incredibly strong foundation that will help me succeed all the way through college.  When I was in kindergarten, I once wrote, 'I get my smarts from OLG,' and it's true!  I am thankful to my parents for sending me to Our Lady of Grace and thankful for the outstanding teachers that I had while I was there.  I love OLG and wish I could go back!"
